Obituary of Carla Mottile

Carla Mottile, 52, passed away on Thursday January 3rd 2019 at Ross Memorial Hospital. Carla courageously battled cancer for 10 months. She lost the physical fight, but near the end it was her grace and serenity that surpassed the disease. 

Carla found the greatest pleasure in being surrounded by the comforts of her family and was able to enjoy this past Christmas surrounded by her loved ones. She sang joyfully to her favourite holiday songs and with her arms up in the air and her eyes closed, cancer did not exist anymore. It was minuscule compared to the happiness that consumed her soul. 

Carla was born on July 13th, 1966 in Oshawa to Annunziata and the late Egidio Belmonte. She was the youngest of 3, sister of Angelo and Rosa (Brother in Law Lorenzo)

Wife to her beloved husband Salvatore Mottile of 31 years and mother to 3 beautiful children Pietro (Daughter in Law Ashley) Sabrina (Son in Law TJ) and her youngest Carolina. 

Carla dedicated her life to her three children. Their Madre, was always there for them in both the happiest and saddest of times. It was her tenacity for life and her unwavering kindness and empathy that made them the resilient children they are today. 

Carla’s love for her husband Sal was truely a love story of the ages. They supported eachother and had the strongest partnership that could never be faltered, not even cancer could break, only making it stronger in the end. 

She always found the humour in everything, even at the most trying of times, there was always room for a much needed laugh. When she experienced the scariest of moments, a joke was always due and expected. She valued the healing powers of laughter, and as her family mourns her passing, laughter is what will keep them strong in the most difficult of moments.
