Obituary of Nick Ashley
Mark Nicholas (Nick) Ashley MB
1962-2022
After a courageous battle with cancer, Nick passed away at home with loved ones by his side.
Beloved husband and soulmate of Lorinda (Lori) for 31 years, proud and loving father of Mark (Mikayla) and Michael (Madeline), devoted brother of Justin (Samantha), dear uncle of Cameron and Hayden. Lovingly remembered by cousins Martin (Alison) Salter and sons Mark and Christopher of England. Fondly remembered by his many friends. Missed by his fur babies Logan and Sophie. Predeceased by his parents Margaret and Cedric.
A proud police officer of Toronto Police Services for 34 years, Nick will be remembered for his dedication, loyalty, leadership, and sense of humor. During his years of service, Nick was one of a select group of recipients of the Medal of Bravery which “recognizes acts of bravery in hazardous circumstances”.
Nick was a devoted friend and family man. He loved relaxing and puttering at the cottage, driving the S2000, traveling and cruising with his family and friends. His favorite place to visit was Rome and he loved everything Italian …… especially the pasta! He was passionate about cars, Star Wars, Star Trek, James Bond, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Nick will be remembered as both an Officer and a Gentleman.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nick Ashley Memorial Student Scholarship would be appreciated. This scholarship was set up 2 years ago during his cancer journey and will be continued. The scholarship is awarded to a student from Cedarbrae Collegiate in Scarborough who will enter a career in Law Enforcement or Health Care.
