The demise of the beloved Domenic brings great sorrow. His friendliness and constant caring persona have left an undeniable mark. As a source of support, teaching invaluable life lessons and providing opportunity against odds, he encapsulated kindness. He valued hard work, encouraging anyone capable to strive forward - this resonates loudly through his teachings from Richmond Hill. Amid jest or serious pursuit, his hearty laugh comforted many, especially so for our dear Gary Freeman (Clancy). His departure leaves a void but also cherished memories that forever inspire gratitude. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

I remember Uncle Dom as the most remarkable and determined man I’ve ever met. I’m grateful to call him not only my uncle but also the first person to hold me as a baby and the man I named my Godfather. “The Godfather” was a name he was given by me, for so many reasons.
His larger than life attitude, his contagious energy and the greatest love he had for my auntie Gail are just a few.
One of my favourite memories of him is our trip to Mexico together. Every single day I would force him to take the stairs with me so we could work the day off of us. Here’s a photo of us at the bottom of the stairs and then at the top!
You’re missed so much and you’ll forever be in my heart. I’ll love you forever Uncle Dom.
Love,
Dayna

Dearest Uncle Dom and Gail,
Sleeping on your couches, being awoken early by your sweet rottweilers on Thornton was always a good way to wake up, sharing your home with me selflessly, your food, hospitality in earlier years, our photoshoot in the back yard with the rottweilers and horses with me and Gail were precious moments captured in my memory of the three of us along with the sweetest Gina kitty and Dom working hard in his big garages, an perfect example of a family man, not only these small gestures of kindness but also Dom sharing your extended family I am grateful for to spend special occasions together, graciously we shared TV movies with aunty Gail and the new fur baby Lennox and more recently extended his business knowledge with me which is invaluable. We enjoyed most recently a special day out in Port Perry in the sexy beast of a teal vintage car with Gail and many laughters were had. These are only a few of the special moments of the kind man I got to know over the years, knowing his warmth and kindness he was someone who could make me smile easily as he had the best personality and sense of humor. I can say that I will miss him dearly and miss him dearly as a pair his life partner Gail my beautiful selfless aunt always ready to defend and protect the best interest of the family they complimented each other most beautifuly as a high school sweet heart pair and soul partner pair for they were one together the strongest of love you could feel in their presence. We can provide love and offerings for you Uncle Dom to be at peace. Love you, Jessica

I will begin by giving my condolences to my aunt Gail from Jordan.. I love you and I loved Dom and know in my heart he is happy and free now. He was a man full of life and laughter anytime I got to see my uncle he could put a smile on your face even just by his own laugh. When my mom (Muriel) was put in the hospital near the end of her life Uncle Dom and Aunt Gail let me live with them while she was getting treatments. I could never be more thankful of the smiles uncle Dom would put on my face to help me relax from the worry of moms slow passing. One thing he definitely knew that worked? DQ! The man new what would keep me distracted and happy (as well as chatting and laughing) but I think he could just tell what a stressful time it was and tried to help when it was starting to get to me without pushing to hard and it was honestly my favourite memory. As well as when he let me ride the skidoo’s but that is for another day..I absolutely loved my time with them because they both complimented one another so well you could just feel happiness in their presence. So thank you Aunt Gail and Uncle Dom for bringing light into other peoples most darkest times. I’m lighting a candle for you uncle Dom and I hope it helps light your way and brings you joy knowing how much you have given us.

Uncle Dom was a big kid at heart! Every summer, my sisters, my cousins and myself would look forward to getting to spend time with our “cool” auntie Gail and uncle Dom. Uncle Dom would make all our childhood dreams come true. He was like a kid with a drivers license and money. He would tell us at 10 PM “jump in the car let’s go to the candy store” and let us buy whatever we wanted. He would take us out for dinner and let us buy the whole lobster if we wanted. He would ride all the rides at Wonderland with us and get us the biggest funnel cake there is. But uncle Dom made even the mondane fun. Driving around doing errands was fun with uncle Dom as he had the top down on his convertible and the tragically hip blaring. One summer I had the opportunity to work with uncle Dom doing post holes. You would think that a job like that would be gruelling for an 18-year-old girl, but every day was so much fun. He was constantly making jokes and laughing that amazing laugh. Just being in uncle Dom’s presence was good enough no matter what you were doing. He loved my auntie Gail so much. It was beautiful and inspiring to see a love like theirs. We will miss you so much Uncle Dom. Until we meet again XO.

I’m so grateful to have named my first born after you. Thank you for accepting the role of his godfather. He has a guardian angel for life, lord knows he needs you and has some big shoes to fill! I have many amazing memories with you. I only wish we could have made some more. You always knew how to make us laugh and have the best time simply doing nothing. Grief shrouds us as we acknowledge the loss of Domenic, a man of exceptional kindness. His nurturing spirit guided many, notably a dear soul in need, Gary Freeman. Unswerving in his support, Domenic fostered independence and trust amongst those he loved. I recall an endearing encounter at a pool area; heartfelt words were exchanged revealing deep affection that lingers still. As we bid farewell to him, may these cherished memories bring comfort during this trying period. He will be missed dearly.

Dom,
Thank you for being such a amazing person with a heart that can’t be capture with how involved you were with family and friends.
I’ll never forget when you tossed me the keys to your yellow big block Chevy pick up and told me to run it hard. What a experience to be young and feel the horsepower of being tossed back in the seat. What 17 year old gets to experience something like that after getting their license.
You always were around to help and hangout with me, my parents Colin and Brenda and enjoy the water out on the boats during our time on the island.
We will never forget who you were as a person and close friend to our family that set a bar for work ethics and fun. You taught me quite a bit with the limited time we had about running a business and staying true to your words.
With your passing we will keep your name alive in our memories and day to day life knowing you are above and looking over us all.
Rest easy Dom.
