Zia Bruna always knew how to listen. If you needed to talk you felt heard. You always left conversations with her feeling better.
She opened her door to everyone. You felt invited. And she made sure you were well fed! Her signature sandwiches were cut in four which always seemed to make them taste better.
I always had a place to go as a kid at Zia's house. Her Christmas tree always shined. Erika had the best toys. Going to Zia's was better than going to Santa's workshop. She wanted to make the household beautiful and warm and she did.
Zia I'll miss you. I'll miss your corvette, I'll miss your funny quick wit, and your kindness. But most of all I'll miss those big hugs we all got when we arrived for holiday dinners. We got them even if we had just left your house a few hours earlier for afternoon coffee and snacks. You made everyone feel loved and like they belonged.
Your love will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully Zia Bruna. You're reunited with grandma (your bestie) and grandpa, and I know you're already busy making heaven an even happier place.
