Obituary of Grace Moores
Grace Helena Moores, née Zwicker.
Grace passed away peacefully at her home. She was 82 years old.
Born October 5, 1941 in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Grace is survived by her brother Bernie and sisters Greta (Collier) and Pauline (VanderZwet) and predeceased by siblings Phil, Rosemary, Joan, and Ruth. Grace is the mother of Monica Dyment (Rob), Mark (Jill St. John) and Jason (Murray Grant), and grandmother to Riley, Emily and Jake.
A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at the Hampton Community Hall at 5360 Old Scugog Road North, Hampton, Ontario, on Saturday, November 18, between 1 and 4 pm.
Grace was an active member of the Hampton Pond Committee and served on the Hampton Community Board for several years.
Grace had many interests which she pursued with passion. Among them was her love of music and nature. For many years, she was a member of the Lakeshore New Horizons Band and was a member of the Durham Community Choir. She led hikes with ORTA and the Durham Outdoors Group, and was a trail maintenance volunteer for the Ganaraska Forest.
Grace was a beautiful, loving soul, a lifelong learner and non-conformist who will be dearly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hampton Community Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation, and Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada.
