Dr. Geoffrey Luck was my doctor from the time I was little (my sister and I came in with chicken pox 3 times and each time he said no way lol)... he took care of my daughter through the first-year of her life and saw her again when she was 5 with the measles. He was always kind, funny and very gentle when it came time to do exams. He left a little bit of himself with every patient and person he spoke to. I will miss him dearly...
My condolences go to Alana and his son. My family sends them too.. Diana, Keith Grozelle and my daughter Emily.

I only just heard of Dr. Geoff’s passing, as I am no longer in the Oshawa area. Dr. Geoff was my Dr. for 40 years and I was so sad when he retired-he was the very best Dr., hands down-but now I am heart broken over your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies Alana and Michael. I hope you are able to have some comfort in the knowledge that his memory will live on in the many lives he touched and made a difference to, not just in his practice but in all aspects of his life. I hope all your memories of a good life together will sustain you at this very difficult time. Sincere condolences, Lea Barrow

My condolences to Dr.Luck's family. I am saddened to hear of his passing. My parents Ken and Jean Hunt had Dr. Luck as their family physician for 20 years and they always expressed a deep affection for him and his wife. In fact they always said " he is a very fine person". As their daughter I always felt my parents were in safe hands and both my sister and I felt his care wave into our family life in a rich and positive way. While loss is so painful I say to his wife and son know that Dr Luck's life as a physician brought a richness to my parents life that I will always be profoundly grateful for. I hope this brings you strength in dealing with your loss.

There are too many memories to account for given Geoffrey/Dr. Luck was my GP for most of my life and for the early years of my children until his retirement. His compassion, empathy and genuine concern for all was astounding. I loved his stories about meeting Alana, moving to Canada and about his travels - always a story in a story. I also enjoyed seeing Alana and Geoffrey working together when she was needed at the practice. It was a great dynamic. Because of his love for talking to his patients wait times were crazy but that was ok as you knew your turn was coming and you did not have time clock on you. I had never seen him happier then when he said he was going to be/and when he was a grandpa. What a fun loving, compassionate and genuinely wonderful person with the ability to brighten your day with just that smile, before he even said a word! What a legend and what a legacy Geoffrey leaves. Alana, Michael and family, may you find peace and comfort with the long lasting memories you created together.

Such hard news !!!
My cousin was a soft spoken no nonsense person.
My last memory of us being together was way back in 1993, when I visited Canada and he offered to take the family to the casino.
So all of age hopped in, including Aunt Olive..
We arrive and while walking in everyone needed to stop because security couldn’t believe my age, and my only form of picture I.D. (California drivers license) was questioned.
In his words, I was tasked with cutting the cards (first timers was supposed to bring good luck and so it happened), he was all praises for my being a part of the group.
Safe journey cus.. we are all following your path one day.

Alana & Family
So sorry to hear of Dr. Luck's passing. We would have come to the visitation had we known but with the Oshawa This Week newspaper's closing it is difficult to access Obituary notices. Our son, Joe, was at the Oshawa General's Game where they did a Minutes silence for Geoff with his picture & he forwarded it to us.
We were very fond of Geoff both as a wonderful & capable Doctor & as a friend. He always had a smile & time to explain what the medical situation was if you asked & also to have a little chat. (In Marty's case usually about Golf & interesting courses.) I remember the first time I met Geoff I had brought Joe to emerge at Lakeridge & he came up to me & shook my hand & said " I'm Geoff Luck & I'll be taking care of your son." We were new to Oshawa & before we left emerge I was very impressed & asked him if he was taking new patients. He said he was & the rest is history. He was a lovely man & will be missed.

It was very saddening to learn of the sudden passing of one of my special first cousin's, Dr. Geoffrey Michael Luck.
My sincere condolences to our entire family, but particularly Alana,Michael,Adriane, Evan and Christian.
I will remember Geoffrey for his, Clearly, established Generosity.
During the 1970's - 1990's era, it was very challenging living in Guyana....
Geoffrey was our cousin from Canada, who was brave enough to return to his birth land, many times, bringing goodies , warm hugs and kisses as he lifted us, one at time
What l saw as a child, was dad and his family, shared a deep special relationship, and, extensive respect for each other......
When my sister, Dr. Randy Choo-Shee-Nam, started her medical programme at U.G., there were no textbooks available in Guyana.....
Dad, I recall, called Geoffrey, who reacted with lightning speed, with the needed texts for his God daughter.
The smartest that I was ever dressed up, in my life, was summer of 1995....to Leslie's and Felina's wedding.
I gotten dressed up by Guyanese standards, and waiting in Geoff's living room with my Aunt Olivia. Geoffrey came, saw me ready . A few minutes later, called me.....given me a purple silk shirt, a tie, suspenders and jacket graciously of his wardrobe.
In a gentle chuckle said, " Donald you look smart.".....removed a tiny camera from his pocket...." l have to take a picture for uncle Randolph."
This was the relationship these two GREAT MEN shared. Living Thousands of miles apart, in the days of very limited phone service to Guyana and decades prior to the birth of internet !!!
May his Spirit Rise in Glory
And
His Soul, Rest in Eternal Peace.

Our heartfelt condolences go to Alana and the entire Luck family.
Dr. Luck became our Doctor in 1975 and continued until his retirement in 2016. Not many people have to good fortune of having a Family Doctor of Geoff’s character for over 40 years! We also enjoyed speaking with Alana during many of our visits.
We will always remember him and acknowledge that our good health is a direct result of his kind and caring manner. We will always be grateful for the consideration he gave to picking a Doctor to take over his practice. We continue to go to his office and the doctor he chose for us.

We are very saddened to hear our long time family doctor, Dr. Geoffrey Luck, passed away.
We always loved going to see Dr. Luck, he always made us smile, had some good laughs and serious talks too but he always made me/us feel in better spirits when we left his office. I remember when he would always tickle the little kids bellies and make them laugh, he had the warmest feeling that everyone loves. We had many long talks and he would make sure we were comfortable and understood his explanations on our discussions or concerns we had with every visit.
When we heard the news of his retirement that was difficult for our whole family since we knew we had a one of a kind doctor and friend.
We lost a great family doctor, he will be sadly missed by many. Wishing your family the very best. Our deepest condolences at this difficult time. ❤️

Geoff and I have been friends for well over 65 years. He was my lifelong friend and I will miss him. It is not possible to share the many wonderful memories over that timeline except to say that growing up in Guyana afforded us the opportunity to experience many adventures. We were part of a group of teenagers who hung out and partied together as well as pursued our academic studies at the same High School and later at various Universities.
We had lots of fun especially spending time at the Lakes with the Fung family and travelling to parts of Guyana on a return trip many years later after immigrating here.
Geoff RIP.

Going to Dr. Luck was like going home. It was comforting, embracing, and loving. I was determined not to have him as a doctor as his cousin had sent me to the ER years previous for appendicitis. When I had my son, 43 years ago he came into my room smiling and as jovial as can be. I was instantly hooked. He was so missed after he retired. He was a wonderful, kind man and he will never be forgotten. Rest In Peace Dr. Luck. You left an inedible mark on myself and my family.

Peter has known Geoff for over 60 yrs. as he was his senior at St. Stanislaus College in G/town, Guyana. Maureen and I began vacations with him and Alana through Merryl in late 1980's cruising the Caribbean, Europe and S.America. Alana always reminds me of one trip where Peter bargained down a kid in Mexico until she decided to buy the chain for good. It was on that same trip Peter asked one of these beach kids in Cozumel where he was born, only to be told "a hospital". We all laughed so much and Geoff said to Peter "you would talk to a monkey" we laughed more.
Geoff was a gifted stamp collector so when Peter inherited a collection from a deceased uncle,he thought he could teach him...not so...he gave up. We enjoyed chatting on health issues and Peter had good advice through his knee replacements. Peter will miss his guys lime at Christmas when the ladies had their tea at Migan. We will miss your dim sum selections and NYEve and your love for old romantic tunes.
Geoff, your 'ole sage advice will be missed...we love you and will be there for Alana for sure. Rest in Peace
