Obituary of Dennis Greaves
H. DENNIS GREAVES 1936 – 2024
Ushered into the presence of God on June 21, 2024, Denny is safely Home. Loved beyond words by Mair, his soulmate and life partner for 66 years. Dad to Garth and Bev, Melanie and Ross Eberlin, Poppa to Ryan, Jason (Melissa), Rachel Eberlin and Alyson (Roberto), Distefano and Daniel (Vanesa) Greaves. Great Poppa to Robbie and Reina. Cherished by Shirley Greaves, Betty and Frank McKenney, Gen and Bud Greaves, Carol and Rob Neff, Tal Morgan, and Sian Wright. Favorite Uncle Denny to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Nancy Greaves and his “adopted sister”, Marion Gilchrist.
Born in Port Arthur, the most important aspects of his life were his family connections. A man of faith, integrity and purpose. Denny spent his life in service to his workplace, his church and his community. A journeyman printer, retail businessman, Gala Gift Shop owner in Elmvale, Dean of Residence at the Baptist Leadership Education Centre, Provincial Court Service Officer, a super gardener, bass singer, cook and baker, home decorator and cross-stitcher. Former member of the Fort William Male Choir, Board member of Men Alive, Barrie ISCF, Convention of Ontario Baptist Churches in Thunder Bay, Barrie and Whitby, Camp Kwasind Management Committee, Lynde Creek Resident Council, and the WOW Mall Walkers. His love for and mentoring influence on young people will reap eternal rewards.
Predeceased by his parents Aune and Ed Greaves, Mary and Bill Greaves, Dr. Frank Kinsey, Gail Morgan, John Wright, Fin and Burt Sellick.

Celebration of Life will be held at the Whitby Baptist Church on August 22, 2024. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm followed by a Service at 2:00 pm.
Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Thunder Bay.
