Obituary of Dennis Monforton
Dennis Paul Monforton, born December 4, 1962, passed away on August 26, 2024, in his sixty first year. He is survived by his brother, Daniel Monforton, of Toronto.
Dennis was the son of the late Lionel Monforton and Beverly Clancy. They initially lived in LaSalle, Ontario, south of Windsor and later moved to Mississauga, where Lionel was employed by Union Carbide. He died at a very young age, when Dennis was only fourteen years old. Dennis is survived by his first cousin, Gerry Monforton.
As a typical teenager, Dennis and his friends were involved in innocent mischief, which eventually led to Dennis being held in Whitby Forensic Mental Health facility for several years. He also had a collection of retired lake crafts, which was a passion from his early years in LaSalle.
Dennis was a kind and lovable friend to countless individuals and was a loyal member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Along the way, Dennis had innumerable friends, such as Brent Bowman and family, Rob Langlois. In his last few months, he had the love and care of guardian angels, Pamela Nichols and Robert Weckman.
May he rest in peace.
A celebration of Dennis’ life will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church in Whitby. Reception to follow in hall.
