Obituary of Antonio Mazzotta
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonio Mazzotta, December 12, 2024, at the age of 88. Antonio, beloved husband of Antonietta Mazzotta (Muto). Loving father of Fiorina Arlia (Robert), Giovanni, Gioconda Porco (John) Susanna Bruni (Frank) Celestino(Pre-deceased)(Joseph) and Settimio (Patricia).
Kind and loving grandfather to Frank, Deanna Watson (Matt), Anthony, Lauren, Matthew, Alexandra, Gabriella, and great grandfather to Shyla, and Gianna.
Loving brother to Carmela Muto (Carmen), the late Giuseppe (The late Elena), Mafalda Muto (The late Giovanni) and Orlando (Carmela). He will be greatly missed by his family, nieces, nephews, and friends,
Antonio was born and raised in the small Town of Lago, Calabria. At the young age of 24, he married his beautiful wife Antonietta, started his family and began training to become a skilled autobody repair technician in Germany. Following 12 years of training in Germany, Antonio, Antonietta and their first 3 children Fiorina, Giovanni and Gioconda immigrated to Canada in 1967 to seek a more prosperous life.
Once landed in Canada, Antonio and family settled in Oshawa, Ontario with other members of his immediate family. Over several years, the family grew with the birth of Susanna, Celestino and Settimio. During this time, Antonio continued to master the skill and craft of Autobody repair and soon opened his business Tony’s Auto Body. His business venture was successful for 25 years and allowed his family to prosper in Canada.
Antonio was a deeply social man who loved his Italian heritage and took great pride in immersing himself in the Oshawa Italian Recreation Club and Oshawa Bocce Club. Antonio was a master at gardening and took pride in his heirloom vegetable garden and plants that were brough to Canada from Italy. He touched the lives of many people, and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank all staff at Fairview Lodge Whitby for their kindness, professionalism and support they provided Antonio and the family.

The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, Decemeber 17th at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Oshawa. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Whitby.
