Yvonne and I met some years ago at a Toronto Romance Writers meeting and we maintained a strong link every since, supporting each other's efforts with story critiques and sharing information on the writing business. Over the years that I knew Yvonne she was such a positive person. Even as she fought her illness, whenever I called to check on her she would end up making me laugh. Through it all she remained a positive spirit, always upbeat and quick to look on the brighter side of things, always thankful, always counting her blessings.
I'm remembering Yvonne with gratitude for all the feedback, for the sharing of business ideas and for being a true inspiration. Remembering you, Yvonne, with so much love. ***

I became a part of Yvonne's creative world when she was in need of book cover designs, as she put it "Romance, Suspense and Drama" novels. Yvonne's passion for her writing inspired me in producing the many collaborative projects we worked on together.
It quickly became a most enjoyable friendship, one I will always value. I am thankful to have experienced this part of Yvonne's life and will dearly miss her. Rest well my friend, you deserve each and every blessing bestowed upon you.

Please accept my condolences on your loss. I first met Yvonne at the RWA convention in New York City 2011. I was immediately struck by her warmth and friendliness. A year or two later, she visited Boston and we met again for dinner at Faneuil Hall. We had so much fun, with lots of laughs. I wish I could attach a photo because I have one I love from that night. I had hoped we'd meet again. What I remember most about Yvonne is her beautiful smile, her great sense of humor, and her vibrant personality. Of course, she was devoted to her family and she told us stories about her mother from Jamaica. Yvonne was special. She had a presence I won't forget. Carly Carson

I met Yvonne when I joined Advocis in the summer of 2013. We sat in the same area and soon became friends, especially when she learned that like herself I was a writer and aspiring novelist. Yvonne often pronounced she would one day grace the New York Times Bestsellers List, and her confidence and determination was inspiring. Yvonne would sit and write for hours in the evenings, fully immersed in the story, while in my own process I would agonize over finding the perfect word. “You can’t edit a blank page,” she’d say when I would express my frustrations during our daily chats at her desk.
What I remember most is her broad smile, infectious laugh, and the words of wisdom she imparted on tough days. She reminded me not to sweat the small stuff, to dream big, and that there was a whole world out there to explore. Yvonne was like a big sister to me, and I am grateful to have known such a warm spirit.

For close to nine years Yvonne and I worked together at Advocis. I always appreciated and respected her dedication and professionalism, as did everyone who interacted with her. On behalf of Yvonne's "work" family at Advocis we wish to express our deepest condolences on her recent passing. She was a well-respected member of the education team and the association as a whole. As a small work community of about 60 employees, we have more opportunities to interact with each other on a daily basis, leading to the development of several meaningful work and personal relationships. Collectively, we have so many wonderful memories of Yvonne, be it her love of fashion, particularily shoes and purses, her passion for writing or her fabulous sense of humour. My sincerest condolences to Yvonne's family! Yvonne and I met at work 10 years ago. I remembered the first day that we met back in 2006. I was away on vacation when Yvonne started. When I returned back to work our path crossed and Yvonne said to me "I did not meet you as yet" We introduced ourselves to each other and shortly after that became good friends. I worked beside Yvonne for five years and during that time our friendship grew outside of the office, beyond being co-workers, we became friends. We talked a lot, sharing our experiences, hopes and dreams, we sighed and we laughed. Yvonne brought me into her world of romantic suspense novels and I enjoyed reading every one of her books and her favorite authors she aspired to. Yvonne's beautiful smile, her confidence and vivacious personality were infectious, irresistible and inspiring to me. She faced cancer with valiant strength, amazing grace and a determined effort and sadly lost the battle way too soon.
