Obituary of Liam Alexander Wiseman
Please share a memory of Liam to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
After a courageous battle with cancer, our precious Liam passed peacefully in the loving arms of his family on Friday, April 8th 2016, at the young age of 13. Liam was the beloved and cherished son of Lesley and David Wiseman and older, favorite brother of Evan. He will be sorely missed by Grandma Margaret and Grandpa Peter, Pappa Kenneth and Nunna Mary, his aunts and uncles Kirsti and Patrick, Edward and Rosaria, and Dianne, and his cousins Ethan, Elliot, Quinn, Brice, Matthew, D’andre, and Olivia, and his family in Canada, Scotland, England, Malta, and New Zealand.
Liam was a unique, one-of-a-kind boy whose depth of understanding and intellectual curiosity were beyond his years. He had a passion for knowledge particularly in the areas of Science, Math, Geography, World History, and World Cultures. He became known as the “Human Google” due to his broad general knowledge across a multitude of topics. He avidly followed the progress of NASA and all international space agencies. He watched every rocket launch with enthusiasm, cheering for SpaceX to land its rocket on the barge. He got his wish on April 8th. He found his niche and intellectual compatibility interacting with the many staff at Sick Kids and Holland Bloorview and he bonded very deeply with his many care givers as did they with him. He became a famous, well known child wherever he went.
Liam was a sweet, caring, wonderful and wondrous child who had an inseparable bond with his mom, dad and little brother. He will be lovingly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. Although Liam’s life was short, he leaves a lasting impact on the many lives he touched. We hope he is now at peace exploring the many mysteries and wonders of the universe that captured his imagination and curiosity.
We would like to thank all the hardworking staff at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children and Holland Bloorview Rehabilitation Hospital for their loving care of Liam and our family. We would also like to thank all those who provided support in our community: the staff at Bolton C. Falby Public School, Grandview Children’s Centre, Community Care Access Centre, The Children’s Wish Foundation, Durham Medical, Design Prosthetics & Orthotics, Ajax Knights Hockey Teams, Stouffville Hockey Team and our many friends and family.
