Eli David MacDougall
January 10, 2017- January 12, 2017
Eli David MacDougall was born Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 12:24 pm to parents Michael and Ashley MacDougall (Bowmanville) at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto. He weighed 410 grams and 10 inches long.
Eli was also lovingly known as "Baby Batman" by his big brother Emerson and the many prayer warriors he had.
Eli became an angel, being held in the arms of his Mommy and Daddy, on Thursday, January 12, 2017.
During Eli's short time on Earth, he came out crying, he blew the professionals away with his feisty spirit, he grabbed onto Mommy's finger and would not let go, he listened intently to his Mommy and Daddy's voices, he was held in Mommy and Daddy's arms as they kissed him, cuddled him and told him how much he was loved. He listened to stories of his big brother and always had his little hands touching his face. He was a warrior!
Eli is deeply loved by his Mommy and Daddy, Big Brother Emerson, his grandparents Wayne and Heather Sampson (Bowmanville), Linda and Ross Reeds (Nova Scotia), his Aunties and Uncles, Diana (Glenn), Danielle (Vince), Doug, Wade, Christi (Leo), Shannon (Mike), Brooke (Brett), his many cousins Aaron, Tanaea, Lexa, Gavin, Isabella, Jordan (Emily), Kayla (Ryan), Faith, Noah, Cheyenne, Nathan, Addison and Caleb and by many other close family and friends.
Eli will always be his Mommy and Daddy's "sweet littlest man" and his loving big brother Emerson's "Baby Batman". He will be held in their hearts until they hold him in their arms in Heaven.
Ashley and Mike would like to thank the incredible nursing staff on the HRO Unit and Birthing Unit at Sunnybrook, for taking such good care of Ashley & Eli before his arrival. A special thanks to Dr. Nir Melamed (MFM), Dr. Michelle Hladunewich (Nephrologist), Brandi (Nephrology NP), and all the Nephrology fellows and Obstetrician fellows for taking special care of Ashley.
Eli was cared for by the most incredible staff in the NICU at Sunnybrook. An extra special mention to Dr. Michael Dunn (Sr. Neonatologist), Dr. Paige Church (Neonatologist), Patty (NICU NP), Jessica (NICU RN) and all the other amazing and dedicated NICU doctors and nurses who cared for Eli.
Visitation will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (Taunton Road, just north of the Airport) 905 440 3595 on Friday, January 20th from 1:00pm until time of the Service at 2:30pm.
