Obituary of Joshua Scarlett

SCARLETT, JOSHUA. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Scarlett on July 3, 2017 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Norma Scarlett for 43 wonderful years. Loving father to Pauline, Norma, Adrian, Stephanie, Zion, Jasmin, and Courtney, as well as 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A devout Christian, Josh exuded selfless love and care towards all. He was a well-respected, hard-working man of strong faith.  He will be remembered as a mighty man of God who impacted many people with his powerful, soul-stirring prayers.  Joshua was a family man who enjoyed simple pleasures such as family gatherings and spending time with his loved ones.  He was fond of baseball and was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan.  He had such an appreciation for his nation of Canada and was known to display several Canadian flags very prominently on his vehicle.  He recently celebrated over 50 years of living in Canada.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health ICU, Oshawa for their warmth and compassion and a very special thank you to family doctor, Dr. Selvarajah for his outstanding care and support over the years.

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa(south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Sunday July 16th from 3:00 – 5:00pm.
