Obituary of James Kay

Jim (James) Kay passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on October 29, 2017 at the age of 60 in Whitby, Ontario. 

Jim was predeceased by his parents Jean and Alfred and sisters Lillian and Connie.

Words cannot convey how deeply he will be missed by his family and friends especially by his surviving sisters, Kathy, Carol (Stewart), Debbie, Jeannie and his loving companion Wendy and her son Zachery.

Jim came into the world having to face many challenges; one challenge was having 6 sisters telling him what to do. He handled it well as he gave advice right back.

His number one joy was his family; he was interested in what everyone was doing. It gave him pleasure when he could do things for them. To his nieces and nephews, Jim was someone that they looked up to his whole life as a kid Uncle Jim was their hero! 

He had many interests: love for the bible, being a researcher, music, movies, guitar playing, cars, electronics and reading. He enjoyed wrestling, playing badminton, running, weight lifting and cycling.  His dogs Goldie and Katie were faithful companions.

Jim walked softly through life, he considered every moment as precious. He loved country life and enjoyed long walks. He was a private person and respected the privacy of others. He was always ready to share whatever he had with anyone. He took great pleasure in giving. He believed in having dreams. It was those dreams that gave him the strength throughout his life.

This precious person will never be forgotten XOXO.

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Saturday, November 11th from 1:00-2:30pm.  A Memorial service will be held in the DeStefano Chapel at 2:30pm. 

In memory of Jim, donations may be made to the Simcoe Hall Settlement House, Oshawa or Ronald McDonald House Charities, Toronto.
