Dear George, Ashley, Carly, Tina and Launa,
We are so immensely sorry for your loss. We will always remember Jo's love of and dedication to her family, her strength and smile.

George and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Jo's death. We met at high school and four of us became friends. We all lost touch with Laura, but Barb, Jo and I kept going. Jo was fun, kind, strong and I loved her.
I told Jo about my grade 6 music teacher singling me out in the grade 6 choir and telling me in front of the entire grade 6, that I would need to mouth it on the night of the performance to our parents. She could hear me singing out of tune above all the other singers. Months later, Jo's mom was driving us somewhere and Jo was in the front seat and two of us were in the back. Jo turned around and asked who is humming? I told it was me and that I would stop. She smiled and said, "You hum really well and I thought it was coming from the radio.' I started to hum more frequently (probably to her regret), and to this day I am thankful to her for boosting my confidence because she thought it was terrible what the music teacher had said.
I am returning to Canada next year, after 20 years in New Zealand and wish that I could sit with Jo and Barb and have some more fun.
In a message to me in 2011, she told me about her 4 daughters and her wonderful husband. I know she felt blessed.
My thoughts and love are with all of you.
