Dear Colin, You do not know me but we share the pain of loss. 3 years ago I lost my wife, Kathy McLuskie. She was from Detroit. I GOOGLED the name and found your tribute. Maybe my wife and your Lauren were in some way related. I will always love my Kate. I know she wants me to live my life and make it the best I can, filled with happiness and love amid the memories and yes, the tears. Be open to love again. I will leave you with this thought..a mother's message to her children,"Remember me with laughter and smiles. If you remember me with tears, it's best not to remember me at all." It's been 4 years without you Lauren. I'm still grieving the loss of you in my life. I miss you just as much today as I did on that tragic night when I received the message from Sarah that you had passed away. Darling I want you to know that I never had the opportunity to say goodbye at your funeral service for reasons that only you and I know. I should have been there the day you slipped away as I was the few times before to resuscitate you and hear your precious heart beat again. Lauren I will never love another in this life time. You were it. We were it. I still love you so much and look at pictures of you and cry nearly every day. I will see you again one day soon and we'll reunite with one another somewhere above. Just know that you're never going to be forgotten or replaced by anyone in my life because nobody could take the place you did in my heart and my soul. It's just too large of a space to fill. I miss you always and love you forever my darling. I wish I could hold you once more and kiss you like before. The memories of you are all I have but rest assured my love that they are still burning as strong as ever and they will never fade away from my memory and my heart. I love you baby doll.
