Lieve Jaap.
Lieve Jaap, rust in vrede.

PAUL AND JACQUI MACK posted a condolence

Jake,
you were a good man. You were a man who cared about and was very proud of his family and who supported them by regular attendance at sports events (our particular memories are of the times our boys played soccer together as youngsters). You were a guy who was so willing to help and care for Paul when he had hip surgery. Your family made a special place for one of our sons during his teenage years, and provided emotional and practical support to him and to our family throughout his time in the military (particularly when he was in Afghanistan).
Thank you - and we will miss you.
- Paul and Jacqui Mack

Met Jake almost 54 years ago at a young peoples' gathering in/around the Barrie area. We met accidentally in the morning and chummed around together. In the afternoon, his older sister Helena came and he introduced me to her. Without Jake, I would not have met my spouse/wife. Thank you Jake

I met Jake about 50 years ago through my youngest sister Maryke. Jake was a feisty young man. Jake had a good sense of humour, which he needed in order to deal with the large Mudde Clan that Maryke was part of.
After they married and settled in Oshawa we connected every now and then. a few years later I bought a dilapidated cottage in Ajax along the shore of Lake Ontario, Jake took one look at it, but never said much, but suggested I could use some help to have some major reconstruction done before it collapsed on itself. Jake took it upon himself to look after this and spent many hours working on the place to make it inhabitable. Over the years we got together on a regular basis Jake was a very open person, spoke his mind, Jake accepted me for who I was without any problem.
I was saddened when I learned of Jake's cancer diagnose, which he seemed to accept as a matter of fact, and he wanted to deal with it as best as he could, it was later when his cancer was declared terminal Jake decided at that point to do what could be done to keep him comfortable, in fact Jake had no problems talking about his diagnoses, in fact at times he made jokes about it. Jake was a man of great courage.
Visited Jake at the hospital last week, we had a bit of a conversation,we bade each other goodbye Jake had great support from his wonderful supportive family members: Maryke, Darren and Family and Lisa and family, it was good to hear they where all at Jake's bedside when he died, which must have been a great comfort to him.
Jake you where like a brother to me, Thank you for being you, will always remember you, Rest in Peace!
