Mike was an Uncle of mine and a friend. To him, I was a nephew and the only person I knew who called me by the nickname "Davey".
I remember my first memories of him when I was a child-- he introduced me to and taught me how to play Super Mario on his Nintendo Entertainment System. Although this was some 25 years ago, I still remember how he laughed at how I would always involuntarily jerk my body upwards whenever I had the character in the video game jump up. "You'll get over it", he said and laughed.
Mike embodied a spirit of believing life was meant to be enjoyed.
He would help setup fun activities for us in the basement like mattress slides and play thrilling games together like "Raw Raw raw" with his daughter (Kristen) and my sister. He is included in many of my fondest childhood summer memories where we would swim and play in the backyard pool (he even took the time to setup solar heating one year to make it more enjoyable), set up DIY water slides, swinging, and watching movie after movie on his TV. He would always think to get me thoughtful and cool tech gifts for Christmas. He was an avid home videographer, filming and editing hours of us playing in his home. He even surprised me one day by showing me a funny home video he edited together featuring myself, tied together with music and storyline.
He would always do his best to make sure the people around him were taken care of and enjoying themselves as much as he was himself. He loved to please others and host family barbeques and thanksgiving dinners. I remember his unique laugh and smile. I wouldn't be the same person today without knowing him.
Peace to you Mike.
And much love and support to his family.

We are so saddened to hear of Mikes passing. We are neighbours and we will miss his friendly smile and waves everyday. He always was so kind and loved to chat. He is sorely missed and our hearts go out to Angela and family.

I am so sad to hear about Mike. I worked with Mike in the TRF for years, when I look at his picture I can hear his laugh in my mind. That's how I will always remember him. My condolences to the family.

I'm at a loss for words on the sudden passing of my only son micheal. He was always so kind and generous with everyone he knew. Micheal was always there to help me whenever he could, especially when it came to my loss of eyesight. I always looked forward to our visits every summer and spending many memorable moments together. I'll miss our time together and his laughter. Love always, mom
