I have many wonderful memories of visiting my Aunt Dawn. I remember taking walks with Toby and Sheba and exploring the area. Dawn was always encouraging me to develop my artwork and remains such an inspiration to me. I’m always amazed at how her paintings capture nature and life so well. She was always so gentle and always truly listened to everyone. I will miss her presence dearly and I will cherish the memories forever.

I first met Dawn and Rick when they moved to Oshawa and Dawn began walking Sheba and Toby in the park near our homes. Dawn soon made friends with the other women and their dogs and the six of us became good pals, chatting and laughing together. We named our group “The Dogwalkers”. Soon we were gathering in each other’s homes, then going on day trips and celebrating our birthdays together. Every event became a special occasion, filled with fun.
Dawn was such a dear friend, always cheerful, even when, in later years, she suffered from many health problems. Her easy laughter and warm, thoughtful nature brightened our days together. We mourn her passing and the big hole it has left in our lives.
Rest in peace, Dawn. Zelda

I am so lucky, as are all those who had the honour of knowing my Aunt Dawn. I fondly remember our visits, especially the walks we would take with Toby and Sheba. She encouraged my curiosity in exploring the forest and admiring the rocks and I treasure the easy conversations we had while walking her dogs. The days somehow felt brighter in her presence. I remember a wonderful, kind, gentle lady whose love of nature and art helped inspire those qualities in my life. Her incredible artistic talent and her quiet enjoyment of nature are aspects of her that will live on in those who were close to her. My heart aches to have lost you, but my soul is warmed by our memories together.

Dawn you were a great sister-in-law. I’ll really miss our telephone chats. It is a shame you were so far away as it would have been lovely to have spent more time with you.
I remember one visit when you arrived here from the airport you couldn’t understand why you were unable to unlock your suitcase - then realised you had picked someone else’s case up by mistake!
With love and fond memories
Anne

I remember Aunt Dawn as such a kind person, so accepting of me as a child, adolescent and adult—that kind of unconditional acceptance is not easy to find. She always saw the positive part of things, whether that was the eggs I made or the new dress I had just bought, reflecting as an adult, neither were really very good at all, but I was afforded the time to learn they were small things. Her loss is significant and I cherish all of my memories even more.
I offer my deepest condolences to Uncle Rick and Aunt Dawn’s family and friends of whom she loved so much.
