Obituary of Giovanni Di Pietrantonio

Peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Thorntonview Long Term Care at the age of 82, beloved husband of the late Rosa. Loving father of Angela Van Grootel (Jeff), and Lina Bryant (the late John).  Cherished Grandfather of Robert, Emily, and Cassandra.  He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Rosa (Giulio) and her children Cosimo (Tara) and Maddalena (Tim), as well as his brother Antonio (the late Antonia), predeceased by his brother Gabriele (late Pasqua).

Giovanni will be greatly missed by all his family and friends in Canada, Italy, New York, and Argentina.   He will be remembered for his love of nature, and being very active who enjoyed swimming, a spirited game of bocci, and making wine.   His favourite musical instrument was the accordian.  Family and friends would always request that he play the classic Italian tarantellas which everyone enjoyed dancing to and singing along as he played.

Due to the restrictions with COVID 19, a private funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at DeStefano Funeral Home.  A private family entombment will follow.  If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
