Obituary of Len Notaro
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard (Len) Notaro on July 4th, 2021, in his 85th year. Loving husband of over 60 years to Diane (née Ronald). Dedicated father of Mary-ann MacFadyen (Duncan), Michele Notaro (the late Michael Mallory), Michael Notaro (Joanne) and Leonard Notaro (Corinne). Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Graham, Kylie, Taylor, Rachael (Justin), Natalie, Nicole, Joshua, Danielle, Kristen and Jacob. Dear brother of Frances Notaro (Armando).Predeceased by Bernadette Polito (Leonard), Phyllis Darrigo (Tony) and Dolores Delahunt (Robert). He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Len was an active and involved father, coaching his children’s soccer teams over the years and serving as the president of the Markham Youth Soccer Club. He was a proud Canadian and worked for Bell Canada for almost 35 years. Len loved watching sports with his wife, especially his beloved Toronto teams. He was an avid lover of cards, especially bridge and the stock market. Len was known to his grandchildren as “Grandpa/Papa”, and was always supportive and generous with his time, wisdom and teachable moments. His bright personality and sense of humour was a staple at all family gatherings. Len was the pillar of the family and spending time with his family was his passion.
Visitations will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa on Sunday, July 11th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the DeStefano Chapel on Monday July 12th at 11:00am. All are welcome to attend the visitation, however, due to current restrictions, to attend the funeral we ask that you register with Kylie Mallory by emailing kdnmallory@gmail.com. A private family interment will be held at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Markham Stouffville Hospital or SickKids Hospital in his name would be greatly appreciated.
