I'll always remember growing up when Pan Wladek would come by our house to play chess with my father or cards with the guys. If there were any constants about him is you could count on his boisterous singing voice and sometimes a glass of Wisers. He was a true gamesman through and through, and every time I would try to step in to win a chess match against him, I'd be soundly beaten. His character will be missed by all.

My deepest sympathies. Walter was salt of the earth guy whose allegiance was to family, friends and God's great outdoors.
