Former Pastor and Bishop of Erie Street Gospel Centre - Church of God of Prophecy,
Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Recipient (2012)
Went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 20th, 2013 at Lakeridge Health Hospital - Oshawa, where he drew his last breath on earth and took his first breath in Heaven. He was the cherished, loving and devoted husband to wife Verna and proud father and mentor of children Pastor Kevin (Marcia), Nadine and Francine (Israel). He was the fourth child of Amybelle and Norton Cole. His siblings include: Brothers- Sifton (Enez), Lloyd Sr. (Joan), Barrington (Gloria), Authel (Clarice), Lenworth; Sisters- Cynthia (Newton), Patricia, Pastor Pauline (Bevon). His seven much loved and adored grandchildren are Joshua, Timaya, Jessica, Matthew, Kenneth, Isabella and Jonathon. He will be sorely missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He pastored the Erie Street Gospel Centre Church for over 25 years, and will be greatly missed by the community and congregants, the national church on a whole and people far and near. Thank you for your love, support, encouragement and prayers during his illness. A special thank you to Lakeridge Health 7C nurses and doctors; CCAC -PSW Elaine & Lucy, Nurse Susan and his family physician Dr. Kevin Luces. Bishop Cole, a man of integrity, honour, and dignity has fought a good fight, finished the course, and has kept the faith Visitations will be held at DeStefano Funeral Home (1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa L1H 7K4 - ph. 905-440-3595) on Friday April 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Pentecostal Church (900 King St E, Oshawa) on Saturday April 6th, 2013, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Internment Thornton Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society Canada for progressive supra-nuclear palsy or to the Erie Street Gospel Centre Building Fund (17 Erie St. Oshawa, L1H 3R1 - www.egccogop.com).
