As children, at family gatherings that seemed over populated with adults and little kids, James and I would gravitate together. We were only a few months apart in age and the two eldest of the cousin brood. I have fond memories of playing together (Star Wars!) then, as we got older, just hanging out.. Age, circumstance and miles made it so we only saw each other rarely as adults but my memories of James will always be fond and will always bring a smile to my face. I’m attaching a pic of the cousin brood circa 1986 and an older pic of James with his Dad, Grandpa and Great- Grandpa.

OMG...I am so sorry for your loss. I just recently heard this sad news at work from a co-worker. Then with some internet searching I found this heart-warming tribute you wrote for James. You re-affirmed his powerful presence in this crazy world. Thank You. I am a York Region Paramedic and had worked only a few shifts with James over the years. His presence on the road made everyone feel safe. I knew he had my back. I can tell you we, older Paramedics, are somewhat private individuals when it comes to personal issues. James shared nothing. I'm so pleased to hear he was well cared for during his battle. My heart aches but this will pass. RIP James. And to all you left behind... My heartfelt condolences. David McGrail

Thank you for your kind words and sharing of your memories of my husband. I appreciate that you acknowledged and recognized what a private person he was and I did have a little giggle when you said you had to dig the internet a bit to find info. Thats exactly what James would have wanted. He was incredibly private and I'm glad I was able to capture what an incredible person he was and always will be through his life story.
