I first met Jim in 1968 when my husband Fred joined the staff at Eastdale Collegiate, Oshawa. Although I didn't, know Jim well, I will always remember his friendliness to me when I knew few people at a social gathering. He was certainly the “ gentleman of gentlemen.” !! May the memories of his life shared with his family eventually being comfort and peace. Sincerely Carol Rhodes Rolph.

Memory of Jim: General Vanier SS in Oshawa,September 1979. I was a new to the teaching profession and my first teaching job. Jim greeted me with a smile and a handshake. Offered confident and cheerful words as I prepared my classroom for the fist day of school.
He guided and tutored me during the next years and was always a friendly port in the storm of teaching. I valued his mentorship during those years at General Vanier.
He always had time for people and always had a smile.
Cherish your memories of Jim - and keep them close in your heart.

Dear Carol,
I send you my deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences at this most difficult time. Peter and I always enjoyed the times we shared at golf, at Mugs 'n Jugs and at the 420 Wing. Jim was always so kind and a wonderful listener. I will miss him and can only hope that the support of family and close friends will help you get through this difficult time.
As I have had to do in these last four months think of all the GOOD TIMES and laughter that you two were able to share.
Hugs,
Gail

Jim Clancy was a gentleman, and an excellent administrator, who took a chance on a wet-behind-the-ears graduate of teacher’s college and gave me my job at MCVI. He genuinely cared about the students and the staff, seeing each individual for the human being they were. I appreciated his leadership, his professionalism and his kindness. You’ll be missed, Jim.
