Joseph Michael Hector Provost

Michael “City Mike” Provost was born on August 30th 1943 in Ottawa Ontario, A loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Saturday April 9th 2022. Michael is survived by his wife Katie, 6 daughters, 1 son, 17 grandchildren, 2 sisters and brother. Michael proudly worked for the City of Toronto for over 35 years. When he retired his life was devoted to his wife and youngest children soon followed by his grandchildren. Michael was known for his kindness, and always willing to help anyone in need. His comical sense of humor and ability to make everyone laugh carried on till his last days. Michael will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Joseph Michael Hector Provost was the son of Louis E Provost, Jill Gringas Provost Nunn, and his step father James W Nunn. Brother to Paul (Mary) Provost, Valerie (Dave) Provost Farlow, Monica (Chuck) Nunn East. Husband to Katingika Afemui Provost “Katie”. Father to Kim (Paul) Fuller, Michael Provost, Nicole (John) Di Flaviano, Melissa Provost, Katherine Graham, Caroline Graham, Amanda (Ronnie Shaw) Provost. Uncle to Lesley (Jason), Debbie, Niall, Courtney, Kristen, Alex, Jaimee, Hero, Liam. Grandfather to Kaitlin, Connor, Jessica, Tyler, Aislinn, Angelina, Michael Jr, Leihona, Caedan, Preston, Presley, Mariah, Priscilla, Israel, Amelia, Maurizio, and Ryder

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home 1289 Keith Ross Drive in Oshawa (905) 440 3595. On Monday April 18^th from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, and again on Tuesday April 19^th from 11:00am – 1:00pm.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday April 19^th at 1:00pm.  Interment will follow at Duffin Meadows Cemetery in Pickering.
