Obituary of Sarina Baglieri

Heaven welcomes a new angel. Sarina Baglieri, 75 of Whitby, Ont. peacefully passed away in the early hours of April 26th, 2022 with her family by her side, after a long 6 year battle of brain injury. 

Sarina was born to parents, the late Corrado Meli and Maria Meli on July 16th, 1946 in Pachino, Sicily.  She immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1951. Sarina married her sweetheart, Salvatore Baglieri on August 31, 1963 and they enjoyed a wonderful life together. Sarina was a loving mother to Donna and Joe (Vanessa), proud grandmother to Giancarlo and Salvatore, dear sister of Sam and Sebastian. 

Sarina was immensely proud of her family & leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. She was described by many as loving, friendly, warm, inviting, dedicated and loyal. Anyone who met her, felt her love and comfort. Sarina loved all kinds of music & especially loved dancing, gardening, baking, doing crafts & scrapbooking and had a passion for travelling and geography, but more than anything she loved spending time with family. You would often hear her say "Family is everything" & "Life is too short so enjoy"!

After a "long goodbye", a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Fairview Lodge in Whitby for the kindness, compassion and care she was shown during these final weeks. 

Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive Oshawa (905) 440 3595 on Thursday April 28th from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 9:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday April 29th at 11:00am.  Interment will follow at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Markham. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
