Obituary of Scott Avison

It is with great sadness that the family of Scott Henry Avison share with you that on Monday June 22, 2015 Scott passed away peacefully in his home with family by his side and the love of family and friends in his heart. Scott’s was a courageous battle. Armed with a joy of life, humour and a love of sharing knowledge and experiences with others, this quiet, kind-hearted man remained optimistic and thoughtful until he took his last breath. Scott quite simply left nothing in the tank. He lived a full life. He lead by example. Scott was a best friend and husband to Michele, an awesome dad to Julia, Kate, Shannon (Blake), Kendall (Jason), Greg (Marie), and a fun, adventurous “G-Pa” to Isla, Gwen and Morgan. Scott was a loving son to Lois and Dick, a lifelong admirer and brother of Shannon, Heather (Roy), and Wendy and a wonderful friend, cousin, nephew, uncle, son-in-law and brother-in-law. Although Scott’s life was shorter than he hoped we will carry him forward in our hearts so that he can share every new adventure, milestone and celebration with us. In his quiet, unassuming way he will continue to be a part of all of our important moments. We will celebrate the life of Scott on Saturday, July 4th, 2015 at 10:30 am at DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (off Taunton Road backing onto the airport….he picked the spot!) Light refreshments will follow the service in the “Aviation Lounge.” In lieu of flowers, or as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (HPB Fund) in memory of Scott Avison.
