Obituary of Robert Fry

FRY, Robert Allen “Bob” Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, January 13th in his 82nd year. Devoted husband to Pauline (Catalano) for 61 years. Loving father to Kim and husband James Ramsey and predeceased by his son, Robb Fry and widow, Pamela. Beloved Papa to Aaron (Joanna), Paige, Cameron, Harrison, Jamieson and Georgia. Greatly missed by sisters Gwen (Jack) and Marg (Carl) and predeceased by his brother Grant (Carol). Special brother-in-law to Joseph (Phyllis) and John. Bob had many cherished friends who will remember him with fondness. Bob worked at General Motors for many years eventually becoming the youngest appointed Director in Canada. He then went on to the role of President of Kerr Industries. Bob was very involved in the Kinsmen for many years, holding the position of President and Governor. Long-standing member of the Oshawa Golf Club. Many thanks to all the staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa who cared for him on his final journey. Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa(south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport)905-440-3595 on Thursday, January 19th from 1:00-2:30pm. A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held in the DeStefano Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 19th at 2:30pm. In memory of Bob, donations may be made to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre of which Bob was an active member of the fund-raising campaign that helped bring the center to Durham Region.
